COMPETITION

My Malaysia, My Heritage Art Competition

[May 2023]

Raffles University and Raffles College of Higher Education, Kuala Lumpur (Raffles Kuala Lumpur) co-organise a competition themed: “My Malaysia, My Heritage Art Competition”, of which many generations have accustomed to, given our country’s diverse ethnicity and culture.

The art piece shall portray multiculturalism or moments of inter-ethnic interaction and reflects the spirit of “My Malaysia, My Heritage”. The competition is aimed to encourage and inspire the young designers for their creativity while celebrate the Malaysia Day on 16 September 2023.

Participant shall register via https://forms.gle/MBWKFLmYKWF6tTp49 and revert to organizer his/her duly signed T&C Form attachment, before or on 15th July 2023.

Selected Entrants will be awarded with scholarship for RKL Diploma courses or RU Diploma or Degree courses in the top 8 places stated above.

Entry Submission – Deadline: 31 July 2023

  1. Applicants for the competition must be a Malaysian Citizen.
  2. Open for Malaysian aged 16 to 18 ONLY
  3. Participant can submit multiple entries, albeit each participant can only win maximum 1 prize.

ART PIECE GUIDELINE
  1. Theme of Art Work: My Malaysia, My Heritage Art Competition.
  2. Entries must be submitted in hard copy (A3-sized Paper) 
  3. The art piece can be drawn with any form, including but not limited to sketching, watercolour, digital illustration and so on. 
  4. A short write-up (not more than 100 words) (optional), either in Bahasa Melayu, English or Mandarin, that reflects the spirit of “My Malaysia, My Heritage”, shall be included within the A3-sized Art Piece.

Participant shall submit original art piece that are unreleased and unpresented. If any plagiarism is found, the entry will be disqualified automatically. (Remark: Participant will bear the sole responsibility, should there be any legal consequences arising from the entry.)

  1. Art Submission – Deadline: 31 July 2023
  2. Entries must be submitted in hard copy (A3-sized Paper) via postage or “in-person” to our campus before the 31 July  For Entries via postage, organizer will only consider entries with postage stamp of 24 July 2023 or earlier.
  3. All submitted entries are non-returnable.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

Winner announcement will be notify with all the selected entrants after the results are announced on 16th September 2023 (Malaysia Day 2023).

  1. Selected entrants who received the scholarship must enroll within a year from the date, the scholarship is awarded. No extension of time will be allowed. Enrollment will subject to admission vetting on their academic credentials (SPM or IGCSE or UEC) and other entry requirements.
  2. Scholarships are applicable solely to Programmes offered at RKL / RU
  3. The scholarship is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

TERMS & CONDITION

  1. Applicants for the competition must be a Malaysian Citizen.
  2. All applicants must be Malaysian aged 16 to 18 ONLY;
  3. Students who received the Scholarship must enroll within a year from the date they are awarded the scholarships. No extension of time will be allowed.
  4. Scholarships are applicable to Programmes offered at RKL / RU
  5. The scholarship is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
  6. Selected entrants who received the scholarship must enroll within a year from the date, the scholarship is awarded. No extension of time will be allowed. Enrollment will subject to admission vetting on their academic credentials (SPM or IGCSE or UEC) and other entry requirements.
  7. The organizer reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Terms and conditions from time to time as it deems fit.
  8. Participant shall submit original art piece that are unreleased and unpresented. If any plagiarism is found, the entry will be disqualified automatically. (Remark: Participant will bear the sole responsibility, should there be any legal consequences arising from the entry.)
  9. Organizer shall reserve the rights of publishing, exhibiting, interpreting, and revising the art piece and its contents, etc.
  10.  All submitted entries are non-returnable. Organizer shall assume no obligation on any compensation or claims from participants.
  11. The organizing committee and panel of judges reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not comply with the terms and conditions of this competition.
  12. The decision from panel of judges is final and no appeal will be entertained.
