Please note that competition for scholarships is usually intense. Scholarships are normally awarded when the candidate is admitted to Raffles University.
Applicants in later admission rounds may find that scholarships have been awarded to earlier applicants.
A: MERIT
SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian Applicant only
Raffles University offers Merit Scholarships to eligible Malaysian applicants based on their academic achievements in UEC, SPM, O-Level, STPM, A-Level, Matriculation, Foundation or Diploma qualifications.
For Bachelor’s Degree Programme
– UEC / STPM / A-Level Achievers: Every ‘A’ will receive a 5% scholarship.
– Foundation / Diploma Achievers: A CGPA of 3.33 and above will receive a 10% scholarship.
For Diploma and Foundation Programme
– UEC / SPM / O-Level Achievers: Every ‘A’ will receive a 5% scholarship.
– Scholarship awards are capped at 30% for students with 6 As, or through a combination of scholarships and discounts.
– At least one (1) ‘A’ in SPM / O-Level / UEC / A-Level / STPM, or a CGPA of 3.33 in Foundation / Diploma.

B: HIGH ACHIEVER 50% SCHOLARSHIP

UNDERGRADUATE
PROGRAMME
Raffles University offers a 50% scholarship each semester to one top achiever from every faculty, recognising academic excellence.
High-achieving applicants may receive a 50% tuition fee scholarship for Foundation + Degree or Degree programmes, subject to an interview and meeting the minimum academic requirements.
The scholarship is limited to 3 recipients per faculty per year (1 recipient per intake) across the following faculties:
- Faculty of Business
- Faculty of Arts & Design
- Faculty of Built Environment & Regenerative Design
- Faculty of Social Sciences
- Faculty of AI & Robotics
Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a CGPA of 3.00 or above throughout their studies.
– Minimum Academic Qualifications:
- STPM: CGPA 3.50
- A Level: 3As
- UEC: 5As
- Foundation / Pre-U: CGPA 3.50
- SPM 6As / O Level: 6As
– Academic scholarship for the highest achieving applicant, based on an interview.
– The scholarship recipient must maintain a CGPA of 3.00 throughout their studies in RU’s programme.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

C1: FOON YEW HIGH SCHOOL (JB, KULAI & SERI ALAM) SCHOLARSHIP
Raffles University extends two (2) categories of scholarships exclusively for Foon Yew High School (FYHS) students, recognising their outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and community involvement.
FYHS Scholarship 1 – Fully Funded Equity Scholarship
– As part of Raffles University’s SDG goal to provide equal education opportunities, the university offers a fully funded equity scholarship for FYHS students recommended by a counsellor, targeting households with a monthly income below RM4,000.
– The scholarship recipient is required to maintain a CGPA of 2.50 or above throughout their study journey.
FYHS Scholarship 2 – 10% FYHS Scholarship
– To support the local community, Raffles University offers a 10% scholarship for all Foon Yew High School students who enrol in Raffles University’s programmes.
FYHS Scholarship 1 – Fully Funded Equity Scholarship
– Foon Yew High School student
– Monthly household income below RM4,000
– Submit supporting documents such as pay slips, Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR), or any other relevant documents to verify household income.
– Recommendation letter from a counsellor
– Scholarship recipient must maintain a CGPA of 2.50 and above throughout their study journey.

C2: SMK SCHOLARSHIP
Raffles University offers a 10% scholarship to eligible students who have completed their studies at selected Malaysian secondary schools (Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan – SMK).
– The scholarship includes a 10% discount for all programmes offered by Raffles University.
– The scholarship applies to students who have completed their studies at the following SMK schools.

Raffles University offers a 10% scholarship exclusively to students from Pei Chun High School, Pontian, applicable to all Raffles University programmes.
– The scholarship includes a 10% discount for all programmes offered by Raffles University.
– This scholarship shows Raffles University’s commitment to recognising academic excellence and supporting deserving students from Pei Chun High School.
– Student from Pei Chun High School
– Completed SPM / UEC and fulfilled the entry requirements of RU’s programmes.

D: EQUITY SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian Applicant only
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, Raffles University is delighted to provide a fully funded equity scholarship, covering 100% of tuition fees, to support students facing financial constraints.
– The university offers a fully funded equity scholarship for students from households with a monthly income below RM4,000.
– Scholarship recipients must maintain a CGPA of 2.50 or above throughout their studies.

– The Elite Athlete Scholarship is available to state or national athletes representing any sport, including E-sports.
– Eligible applicants may receive a 50%–100% tuition fee scholarship for a Raffles University programme.

E2: FUTUREU TALENT SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian & International Applicant
Raffles University warmly welcomes those who have served as team captains, sports club presidents, organisers of sports events (including E-sports), or leaders in inclusive and community sports to enrol in our esteemed programme, which offers a 30% – 50% scholarship scheme.
– The Future U Talent Scholarship recognises students who have demonstrated leadership or talent in sports and entertainment.
– Eligible applicants may receive a 30%–50% tuition fee scholarship for a Raffles University programme.
– Limited scholarship seats are available.
– For students who have demonstrated leadership as:
- Team captains
- Sports club presidents
- Participants or leaders in inclusive or community sports
- Organisers of sporting events, including E-sports
- Entertainers or celebrities
– The scholarship is applicable to any Raffles University programme, and recipients must maintain a CGPA of 2.50 or above every semester.

F: PHD SCHOLARSHIP

Malaysian & International Applicant
Applicants for the Doctorate (PhD) Full Research Programme at Raffles University may be eligible for up to a 50% scholarship.
The 50% scholarship is available to applicants for the Raffles University Doctorate (PhD) programme in full research mode.
- Minimum duration (Full-Time): 3 years
- Minimum duration (Part-Time): 4 years
– The scholarship recipient must pass every semester’s research progress report
– Fulfilled the entry requirements of the Raffles University PhD full research programme.
– Application fee and admission fee are excluded from the scholarship awarded.
– Pass every semester’s research progress report
– Terms and conditions apply.
Research and Professional Development Support:
– Additional support of a maximum RM5,000 in research grants to assist with project-related expenses and conference attendance (only applicable to Full-Time students).
– Subject to university approval based on the alignment of the research project with RU’s strategic goals.
Teaching Assistant / Tutor Appointment:
– Given an opportunity to be trained and appointed as a tutor/teaching assistant with a maximum of 10 hours per week (Full-Time students) or a maximum of 5 hours per week (Part-Time students).
– This appointment is unpaid and is part of the conditions of the scholarship granted.
F2: CORPORATE POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian & International Applicant
Applicants for Doctorate (PhD) taught-course and mixed-mode programmes at Raffles University may be eligible for a 20% corporate rate.
The 20% scholarship is available to applicants for the Raffles University Doctorate (PhD) programme in taught-course and mixed-mode.
- Minimum duration (Full-Time): 3 years
- Minimum duration (Part-Time): 4 years
– The scholarship recipient must pass every semester’s research progress report
– Fulfilled the entry requirements of the Raffles University PhD full research programme.
– Application fee and admission fee are excluded from the scholarship awarded.
– Pass every semester’s research progress report

Research and Professional Development Support:

Applicants from specific region applying for undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at Raffles University may be eligible for up to 30% off tuition fees.

International Applicant
The English Preparation Programme Offset encourages international students to complete the English course before their main programme.
– Applicable to international students who have progressed to the main programme of Raffles University after completing the English Preparation Programme (EPP) at Raffles University.
– 50% rebate on EPP tuition fees upon progression to the main programme.
– International students only.
– Completed the RU English Preparation Programme and progressed to main programme at Raffles University.
– Fulfilled the entry requirements of the main programme.
