Is Raffles University Iskandar and Raffles University the same?
Yes! Raffles University is formally known as Raffles University Iskandar (RUI). We are officially named as Raffles University (RU) since October 2020.

Is Raffles University related to Raffles Singapore/ Raffles Kuala Lumpur?
Yes! Raffles University is part of Raffles Education Corporation which has over 18 institutions around the world. Check out here for more information.

Is the Raffles building in Iskandar the Raffles University?
Nope! The current Raffles building in Iskandar, Johor is Raffles American School. It is part of our parent company – Raffles Education Corporation. However, it is an international/American school for K-12 students.

Is Raffles University located in Iskandar, Johor, Malaysia?

Do you provide a hostel/accommodation?
Yes! However, it is not an in-house hostel. [Learn more]

Do you provide bus services?
Unfortunately not, however, there is a bus stop nearby our campus.

Can I apply to study using my SPM forecast results?
Of course! You may apply for Raffles University’s programme with SPM forecast result. However, you are required to fulfil the minimum requirements of the programme you have enrolled in after receiving actual SPM result.

What is the minimum credits in SPM for me to enroll at Raffles University?
The minimum credits vary depends on the programme, you will be required to have at least 3 credits for some business programmes or 5 credits for some foundation programmes. However, certain programmes may consist of additional requirements. Visit the programme page / contact us for further information.

I am a SPM graduate, what programme can I apply for?
For all SPM students, you can enrol into a Foundation or Diploma programme before you further study in a bachelor’s degree programme.

Is there any scholarship that I can apply for with my SPM result?

Are Raffles University’s programmes recognised in Malaysia?

Is RU’s programme recognised by other authorities?
Our Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) is recognised by ACCA and Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours) is recognised by Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM). [Learn more]

Are Raffles University qualifications recognised in China?

What kind of scholarship does the university provide?

Can I apply for a PTPTN / EPF withdrawal?
For PTPTN, it can be applied by students who enrolled at Raffles University’s Diploma and Degree programme. However, it is not applicable for MBA and Foundation programmes. EPF Account 2 is applicable if the student owns a EPF Account 2.

What is the progression programme available at Raffles University?
– Foundation > Bachelor’s Honour Degree
– Diploma > Bachelor’s Honour Degree
– Bachelor’s Honour Degree > MBA

How many credits transfers will I receive if I further my study at the Bachelor’s programme at Raffles University after completion of Diploma programme?
It depends on the programme you enrolled in and the credit transfers you received. Contact Admission / SAS for further details.

Must I take IELTS to enroll at Raffles University?
Nope! We will look at the English result that equivalent to IELTS such as GCE O level / 1119, MUET, TOEFL, UEC etc.

How long will it take to receive a student visa?
For international students, it will take at least 2 months upon completing the documents for your student visa. Please contact us for more information.  

Can International Student works while studying at Raffles University?
Yes! The international student will be able to work up to 20 hours per week under a student visa. For more information, visit here

Do I have to submit my portfolio to enter any of the design programmes?
Yes! You are required to submit a portfolio as part of the application process of all Raffles University’s design programmes. We are more than happy to assist you with this process as well.

What is the purpose of the pre-enrollment portfolio assessment?
It aims to enable the lecturer to know your potential and can allocate you to the appropriate class.

Must I have excellent drawing skills to enroll in the design programme?
Nope! It is definitely not mandatory. You can learn and improve your drawing skills throughout our programme.

When would be the class time for MBA?
MBA students have their classes in the evening of the weekday, the class time is usually from 7pm – 10pm.

Is the MBA a full time or a part-time programme?
Our MBA can be a full-time or part-time programme. The length for a full-time MBA would be 1 year 4 months and the length for a part-time MBA would be 2-4 years.

Can I apply MBA straight after I graduated from my Bachelor Degree programme?
Yes! You can apply for the MBA programme after you completed a recognised Bachelor Degree programme with CGPA of 2.5 and above.

Could I apply for any financial aid for MBA programme?
You can apply for EPF Account 2 withdrawal for the MBA programme. You can also look for some scholarships for MBA here

What is blockchain technology?
Blockchain is a method for recording information that is very difficult or impossible to illegally hack, change or copy. Information is stored in blocks that are duplicated and distributed over a network of computer systems; hence its name blockchain.

How is blockchain technology used to issue final transcripts and certificates?
Students’ transcripts and certificates are encoded into blockchain format by a blockchain provider. Each student is issued a specific link to the provider. Activation of the link will display that particular student’s transcript and certificate.

How do employers and third parties verify Raffles University qualifications?
A student will provide their link to the third party. The third party activates the link and the student’s transcript and certificate will be displayed. Third parties can be confident the information is correct because it is encoded using blockchain technology.

Who is the blockchain provider?
Raffles University has chosen Accredify as the blockchain provider. Accredify is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified, a globally recognised information security management system standard. For more information about the company you can visit their website https://accredify.io/.

Can students print a hard copy of their transcripts and certificates?
Yes, they can print a hard copy if they wish to do so.

What happens if a student loses their link?
SAS maintains a master record of all links. If a student loses their link they can contact SAS and the link will be sent again.
