Students will find that they can easily communicate with locals.

Malaysia is renowned for its vibrant celebration of Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Hari Raya, where you can see spectacular displays of fireworks, costumes, singing and dancing and try local delicacies.

ABOUT MEDINI, JOHOR

Johor is located at the southernmost of West Malaysia. It is a vibrant state, shaped by its culture, history and the beauty of its landscapes, Johor has much to offer anyone that comes its way. The cost of living in Malaysia is considered at a low range, estimated to be around RM800 – RM1,500 per month depends on your personal lifestyle.

Fun & Excitement around Iskandar

Plan a staycation at the attractions around the RU Medini Campus during your break or holidays. Spend a day or two to visit the nearby Legoland that consists of the theme park, water park and aquarium. If you prefer something adventurous and thrilling, see the two of Asia’s largest indoor and outdoor X Parks near the RU Medini Campus. Plan activities such as go karts, cycling velodrome, drones around the town.

If you are looking for something relaxing and chill, visit Iskandar Puteri 5 – 10 minutes away from the Medini Campus. Enjoy the beautiful sea breeze and delicious food around that area. Otherwise, you may choose to explore the beautiful tropical forest and plantation in Malaysia by visiting the 343 acres of Sireh Park that is still developing in progress. Check out the Medini Green Parks to visit the Edible Park and Heritage Forest, and a random pop-up market will be available from time to time.

Stunning Architecture

One of the most beautiful things to see in Johor is its mix of old and new architecture. Some examples are the Tan Hiok Nee heritage street, the Dataran Bandaraya, the Sultan Ibrahim building and the Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque. Johor’s cultural heritage is reflected in the architecture.

Nature and Wildlife at its best

Johor is also home to some of the most beautiful parks and forests in Malaysia. The Endau-Rompin National Park holds one of the oldest rainforests in the world and is home to wildlife and plants only found in this region. Within its dense forest, there is also a community of Orang Asli or Native tribes that have lived as one with nature for generations.

Beautiful Islands and Beaches

Johor is known for pristine waters with islands that face the South China Sea. Take a trip to Pulau Sibu and Pulau Aur where you can rent chalets, walk across the beautiful beaches and take part in watersport activities like jet skiing, banana boating and kitesurfing. These islands are also a perfect place for diving and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters where you can swim amongst the marine life.

Proximity to Singapore

The development of the transportation system has resulted in affordable and convenient travel between Malaysia and Singapore. Students can easily travel to Singapore to attend shows, exhibitions and enjoy the nightlife, with the affordability of living in Johor.

The RU Medini Campus is 20 minutes away from Tuas Second Link to Singapore. The cost of travelling to Singapore by bus is affordable for the students. Plan some weekend activities to travel around Singapore by visiting museums, shopping or cafe hopping. Some of the students prefer to enjoy the convenient connectivity to Changi Airport as the departure destination of the travel plan.

TRAVEL WITH EASE

Kuala Lumpur Public Transport has developed into one of the most modern transportation systems in this region. It has a comprehensive network of buses, taxis, monorail, light rail transit and commuter trains that provide convenient and quick access to various parts of this city and its surrounding.
