MCQUEEN CREATORS PAPER DOLL PROJECT

#MCQUEENCREATOR PAPER DOLL PROJECT

On 24 June 2020, Raffles Fashion Designer held a sharing session on the virtual platform – Zoom. They were sharing their artworks of #MCQUEENCREATORS PAPER DOLL Project.

MCQUEENCREATORS

It is a global event that is held by Alexander MCQUEEN, with an aim “to create patchwork using fabric scraps you can find at home, taking inspiration from the tailor’s quilt coat and suit in the AW20 collection“. The public can also participate in the activity.

The Programme Director of Fashion Design, Ms Jennifer received the invitation from the company to invite the current students from Bachelor of Fashion Design(Honours) to participate in this event. She thought that it was an interesting event for students especially during the period of MCO ( all classes of Raffles University have been moved to the virtual platform during MCO.)

Ms Jennifer has designed this project into two stages for Raffles Fashion Designers.

Stage 1 – Create the paper doll with the template provided in the McQueen Creator’s webpage

All students are required to print out the template that is provided in the webpage and to create the paper doll with the template. The students were given a week to complete this task. After a week, the students are required to attend the zoom meeting, to share their experience to create the paper doll, the challenge they faced and the initial idea of their next paper doll.

Stage 2 – CREATE YOUR PAPER DOLL

The students were required to create a paper doll base on their creativity. Besides, they had to present their final work on the virtual platform, to share their inspirations, the concept, how they produce their final artwork, and how they presented it on social media. They were also required to post their final work on their Instagram and tag #Mcqueencreators.
