AI & Robotics Field Trip

On 7 June 2026, students and faculty from the Raffles University Faculty of AI & Robotics visited the DayOne Data Centre for an immersive industry field trip. The visit was designed to bring the complexities of cloud infrastructure and data management to life. By touring a modern data centre, students were able to witness the practical application of the concepts they study, including:

Operational Excellence: Observing the systems required to maintain consistent, 24/7 uptime.

Infrastructure & Security: Seeing the robust physical and digital security protocols that protect global data assets.

Sustainability: Learning about the innovative cooling and energy management techniques currently being used to minimise the environmental impact in the tech sector.

This field trip served to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industry practice, giving students a clearer perspective on career pathways in the AI, robotics, and cloud computing sectors.
