Please note that competition for scholarships is usually intense. Scholarships are normally awarded when the candidate is admitted to Raffles University.
Applicants in later admission rounds may find that scholarships have been awarded to earlier applicants.
A: MERIT
SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian Applicant only
Raffles University offers scholarships to prospective students achieving A(s) in UEC / SPM / O Level / STPM / A Level / Foundation / Diploma.
For Bachelor’s Degree Programme
– UEC / STPM / A-Level Achievers: Every ‘A’ will receive a 2.5% scholarship.
– Foundation / Diploma Achievers: A CGPA of 3.5 and above will receive a 10% scholarship.
For Diploma and Foundation Programme
– UEC / STPM / A-Level Achievers: Every ‘A’ will receive a 2.5% scholarship.
– At least one (1) ‘A’ in SPM / O-Level / UEC / A-Level / STPM, or a CGPA of 3.50 in Foundation / Diploma.

PROGRAMME
Raffles University offers a 50% scholarship each semester to one top achiever from every faculty, recognising academic excellence.
The recipient of this scholarship will receive up to 50% off tuition fees from Foundation to Bachelor’s Degree, excluding Foundation alone, with 1 seat per faculty per intake.

The scholarship recipient is required to maintain a CGPA of 3.00 or above throughout their study journey.
– Minimum Academic Qualifications:
- STPM: CGPA 3.50
- A Level: 3As
- UEC: 5As
- Foundation / Pre-U: CGPA 3.50
- SPM 7As / O Level: 5As
– Academic scholarship for the highest achieving applicant, based on an interview.
– The scholarship recipient must maintain a CGPA of 3.00 throughout their studies in RU’s programme.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

C1: FOON YEW HIGH SCHOOL (JB, KULAI & SERI ALAM) SCHOLARSHIP
Raffles University extends three (3) categories of scholarships exclusively for Foon Yew High School (FYHS) students, recognising their outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and community involvement.
FYHS Scholarship 1 – 30% Academic Scholarship
– Applicable to applicants recommended by a counsellor who achieve at least 5 As in UEC.
– Successful recipients will receive a 30% discount on any Raffles University programme.
– The scholarship recipient is required to maintain a CGPA of 3.00 or above throughout their study journey.
FYHS Scholarship 2 – 20% Merit Scholarship
– Applicable to applicants who achieve at least 5 As in UEC.
– Successful recipients will receive a 20% discount on any Raffles University programme.
– The scholarship recipient is required to maintain a CGPA of 2.50 or above throughout their study journey.
FYHS Scholarship 3 – Fully Funded Equity Scholarship
– As part of Raffles University’s SDG goal to provide equal education opportunities, the university offers a fully funded equity scholarship for FYHS students recommended by a counsellor, targeting households with a monthly income below RM4,000.
– The scholarship recipient is required to maintain a CGPA of 2.50 or above throughout their study journey.
FYHS Scholarship 4 – 10% FYHS Scholarship
– To support the local community, Raffles University offers a 10% scholarship for all Foon Yew High School students who enrol in Raffles University’s programmes.
FYHS Scholarship 1 – 50% Academic Scholarship
– Foon Yew High School student
– Minimum of 5 As in UEC (highest academic achievers have a better advantage)
– Recommendation letter from a counsellor
– Scholarship recipient must maintain a CGPA of 3.00 and above throughout their study journey.

FYHS Scholarship 2 – Fully Funded Equity Scholarship
– Foon Yew High School student
– Monthly household income below RM4,000
– Submit supporting documents such as pay slips, Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR), or any other relevant documents to verify household income.

– Scholarship recipient must maintain a CGPA of 2.50 and above throughout their study journey.

Raffles University offers an exciting scholarship of up to 10% for students from selected Malaysian secondary schools (Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan – SMK).
– The scholarship includes a 10% discount for all programmes offered by Raffles University.
– The scholarship applies to students who have completed their studies at the following SMK schools.

Raffles University is pleased to offer a scholarship of up to 10% for students who have completed their studies at selected Chinese Independent Schools (CIS) in KL/Selangor.

D: EQUITY SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian Applicant only
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals, Raffles University is delighted to provide a fully funded equity scholarship, covering 100% of tuition fees, to support students facing financial constraints.
– The university offers a fully funded equity scholarship for students from households with a monthly income below RM4,000.
– Scholarship recipients must maintain a CGPA of 2.50 or above throughout their studies.
– Apply before 2-4 weeks before intake commencement
– Monthly household income below RM4,000

F: PHD 50% SCHOLARSHIP
Malaysian & International Applicant
Applicants for the Doctorate (PhD) Full Research Programme at Raffles University may be eligible for up to a 50% scholarship.
The 50% scholarship is available to applicants for the Raffles University Doctorate (PhD) programme in full research mode, with 5 seats available per year.
- Minimum duration (Full-Time): 3 years
- Minimum duration (Part-Time): 4 years
– The scholarship recipient must pass every semester’s research progress report
– The recipient is required to produce 3 Scopus papers within the standard programme duration (based on the mode of study), with a 12-month extension for publication.*
– 50% of tuition fee reduction. RM10,000 Bond. 3 Scopus papers required to get refund of 50% Bond.
– Fulfilled the entry requirements of the Raffles University PhD full research programme.
– Application fee and admission fee are excluded from the scholarship awarded.
– Pass every semester’s research progress report
– Required to produce 3 Scopus papers.
– 50% of tuition fee reduction. RM10,000 Bond. 3 Scopus papers required to get refund of 50% Bond.

Research and Professional Development Support:
– Additional support of up to RM5,000 in research grants to assist with project-related expenses and conference attendance (only applicable to Full-Time students).
– Subject to university approval based on the alignment of the research project with RU’s strategic goals.
Teaching Assistant / Tutor Appointment:
– Opportunity to be trained and appointed as a tutor/teaching assistant for a maximum of 10 hours per week (Full-Time students) or a maximum of 5 hours per week (Part-Time students).
– This appointment is unpaid and is part of the conditions of the scholarship granted.
G: REGIONAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
International Applicant
Applicants from specific region applying for undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at Raffles University may be eligible for up to 30% off tuition fees.
