RU Teddy Bear Toss: A Heartfelt Campus Charity Initiative
The Teddy Bear Toss at the Atrium brought everyone together to collect plush toys for donation as part of Raffles University’s community outreach initiative. The activity took place on 11 February 2026. Students and staff participated enthusiastically, tossing their teddy bears and plush toys into the Atrium in a fun and heartwarming display of unity and compassion.
All the toys collected were donated to Shechinah Association Johor Bahru, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing shelter, care, and support for the less fortunate in the community. This event highlighted how simple gestures can have a meaningful impact. Beyond the fun of the toss, the initiative reinforced Raffles University’s commitment to social responsibility, encouraging students and staff to give back and make a positive difference in the lives of those in need.

Where the Teddy Bears Found Their New Homes
Continuing this spirit of giving, representatives later visited the Pasir Salam Community e‑Village on 15 March, where Shechinah Association supports community initiatives for the Orang Asli community. The visit was part of a community event at Sarua Kampunga, where the donated teddy bears were shared with children, bringing smiles and moments of joy to families in the Johor area.
Beyond the fun of the toss itself, the initiative demonstrated how simple gestures can create meaningful impact. By working together with Shechinah Association, Raffles University was able to extend the kindness of its students and staff to communities beyond the campus, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
