In Raffles University’s culture, we proactively look for the opportunity of local events, entrepreneurs and companies to collaborate with students for better exposure to industry insight. With the RU Medini campus, we expect higher exposure to the nearby community with the neighbouring township, including Medini City, Puteri Harbour, EduCity, etc. RU students will have various opportunities to be part of a young and enthusiastic community.
A Comprehensive Student Life at EduCity
Educity is the first township with multi education institutions. EduCity provides comprehensive services such as Student Village Accommodation, EduCity Sports Complex and Student Hub to ensure the students studying at Educity area is equipped with facilities and social experience.
Educity has set up an Educity Student Senate (ESS), selected from the students from various universities in Educity. Their roles are to represent the students and create events that bridge students from multiple universities. Take the chance to meet with other university students at these common facilities.

The All-Inclusive Township
There are a few convenience stores within walking distance from RU Medini Campus. Students could grab some snacks or beverages before or after the class.
Comprehensive amenities also surround the RU Medini campus. There are banks, hospitals, groceries store and shopping centres within 5 – 10 minutes’ driving distance. Students can drive or take the shuttle bus to access the nearby stores.
One-Click Delivery
E-commerce development has been developed rapidly in recent years. By studying at RU Medini Campus, the student will enjoy fast delivery of goods locally within days through e-commerce platforms. These platforms might offer promotions at a specific period of the month to save the student’s pocket money. Also, with faster logistics, students will be able to order meal that will arrive at their doors quickly.
WORK HARD AND RELAX
Get a few friends together and head over to a nearby movie theatre with the latest blockbuster movies. After the class, you may also plan for a daily sports game via jogging at the park or swimming in the EduCity Sports Complex. You may also arrange a short gateway to explore the unique attractions around Johor.
Explore the Food Paradise
Being located at the centre of a few townships, students will enjoy the food choices around RU Medini Campus. Explore the traditional food from various races around the town, get familiar with famous Malaysian food such as Satay, Chicken Rice or Roti Canai. There are multiple international restaurants with different cuisine such as Korean, Indian, Japanese food for students to choose based on their preferences. Occasionally, a student may enjoy the fine dining with a seaport view at Puteri Habour.
Nowadays, the best activity for students is café-hopping with a friend or two at a coffee franchise, modern café, or bubble tea shop nearby Medini. Take a snapshot or selfie with the “instagrammable” food and designed shop and share with friends and family. Students can choose the fast-food franchises nearby for a quick meal or after-class discussion with friends.
Fun & Excitement around Iskandar
Plan a staycation at the attractions around the RU Medini Campus during your break or holidays. Spend a day or two to visit the nearby Legoland that consists of the theme park, water park and aquarium. If you prefer something adventurous and thrilling, see the two of Asia’s largest indoor and outdoor X Parks near the RU Medini Campus. Plan activities such as go karts, cycling velodrome, drones around the town.
If you are looking for something relaxing and chill, visit Iskandar Puteri 5 – 10 minutes away from the Medini Campus. Enjoy the beautiful sea breeze and delicious food around that area. Otherwise, you may choose to explore the beautiful tropical forest and plantation in Malaysia by visiting the 343 acres of Sireh Park that is still developing in progress. Check out the Medini Green Parks to visit the Edible Park and Heritage Forest, and a random pop-up market will be available from time to time.
TRAVEL WITH EASE
Location plays a significant role in the ease of being able to travel. The strategic site of the RU Medini campus provides convenient connectivity for RU students to easily reach other towns, states, and countries. The students can choose self-driving, take a shuttle bus or call for a grab car service for a shorter distance travelling. Apart from that, students can enjoy the convenient connectivity to the bus station, ferry pier, and airport if they plan for a long journey.
The Air, Road, Sea, Connectivity
Take a shuttle bus to EduCity or nearby groceries area within Medini City. There are plenty of Grab cars to get you to your destination if you prefer to go to other nearby towns. As part of the development of Smart Medini, there will be Planned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Medini Local Tram around the city as future development.
RU Medini Campus is 20 minutes away from Larkin Bus Terminal, where you can take buses that travel to other states such as Kuala Lumpur and Malacca. If you are looking for a different destination, such as Penang or Langkawi, you may choose an internal flight via Senai International Airport 40 minutes away from the campus. There is also a limited choice of international flights available at the Senai International Airport. Seaport such as Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Port of Pasir Gudang, Port of Tanjung Langsat are also known as choices of transportation for the student.
Connectivity to Singapore
The RU Medini Campus is 20 minutes away from Tuas Second Link to Singapore. The cost of travelling to Singapore by bus is affordable for the students. Plan some weekend activities to travel around Singapore by visiting museums, shopping or cafe hopping. Some of the students prefer to enjoy the convenient connectivity to Changi Airport as the departure destination of the travel plan.
