ENERGY CONSERVATION POLICY

Raffles University’s Energy Conservation Policy reflects our steadfast commitment to sustainable practices. By raising awareness about the environmental impact of energy use, we aim to foster a culture of conscious energy management across campus.This policy underscores our dedication to a greener future, aligning with global sustainability goals and inspiring positive change within our university community.

  1. All personnel are required to turn off lights in classrooms, studios, and unoccupied spaces to ensure efficient energy use.
  2. Whenever feasible, efforts should be made to maximise the utilisation of natural light sources, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting.
  3. The utilisation of LED lighting is implemented.
  4. The air conditioning system must be turned off when not in use.
  5. The centralised air conditioning system will be operational from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, aligning with university hours.
  6. Maintain a consistent temperature range of 24 to 25 degrees Celsius
  7. The centralised control system’s operation of air conditioning system is restricted solely to authorised personnel to ensure optimal energy management.
  8. All powered office equipment and appliances must be powered off or placed in standby mode during periods of inactivity.
  9. The university’s management is committed to evaluating the environmental impact of energy consumption in all operational decisions.
  10. The university will consider ways to reduce energy consumption and improve efficient use of energy without compromising on the safety and healthy environment.
  11. The university will monitor and measure energy consumption use across the university.
  12. The university will integrate energy conservation concepts into the educational curriculum, actively encouraging students to participate in sustainable energy research and projects.
