Collaborative Community Service Project

Joining Hands for the Community: A Collaborative Student Initiative

On Saturday, 10 May 2025, students from different educational institutions came together for a collaborative community service project aimed at supporting a local village facing water shortages, particularly during festive seasons.

The project brought together participants from Raffles University, Foon Yew High School JB, SMK Seri Tangkak, SMK Buluh Kasap and Reading University. The initiative was also supported by Raffles University President, Mr Greg Pritchard.

Responding to a Community Need

The project was initiated in response to the water shortages experienced by the village, especially during festive seasons.

One of the key objectives was to improve the village’s water storage infrastructure, providing support for a practical need identified within the community.

Engaging with the Community

In addition to the water storage initiative, the project also aimed to include engaging activities with local children and greenery efforts.

These activities formed part of the overall community service initiative, extending the project beyond its focus on water storage to include engagement with the local children and efforts related to the surrounding environment.

Collaboration Beyond the Classroom

The project brought together participants from five educational institutions around a shared community service initiative.

Through the involvement of Raffles University, Foon Yew High School JB, SMK Seri Tangkak, SMK Buluh Kasap and Reading University, the project highlighted the value of collaboration in supporting community-focused initiatives.

For the participating students, the project provided an opportunity to be part of a collaborative effort beyond their respective educational environments while contributing towards the objectives of the community service project.
