INSPIRE Collab(oratory): Catalysing Interdisciplinary Action is a one-day online conference initiated to bring together academics from different universities to explore interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities in the context of innovation and beyond.

This ‘collaboratory’ is not a traditional conference. It is a facilitated, participatory space where academics can:

ZAINARIAH BINTI JOHARI
Director

Zainariah binti Johari is a visionary leader with over three decades of experience driving growth and transformation in the creative and cultural sectors. As a strategic advisor, she champions the Orange Economy, recognising its potential to build nations and create meaningful social impact. From 2023 to 2025, she served as Group CEO of a creative ventures group, resolving legacy issues, managing a national fund, and launching a groundbreaking matching grant scheme. Previously, as Head of the Creative Pillar at Yayasan Hasanah under Khazanah Nasional Berhad, she initiated the Cultural Frontliners programme supporting musicians during the pandemic. An Emmy-nominated creative entrepreneur, she has served as a board member of ASWARA under two Ministers. Zainariah holds degrees from Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

SIVA KUMEREN A. NARAYANAN
Group Chief Operating Officer
TalentCorp Group

Siva leads strategic initiatives at TalentCorp as the Group Chief Operating Officer, focusing on national efforts in talent management, workforce readiness, and skills development. He has been instrumental in the development of MyNext, a career profiling and psychometric platform for Malaysian tertiary and TVET students, and played a key role in establishing the MYXpats Centre, which facilitates highly skilled expatriates. He also helped steer the formation of the MyMahir Future Skills Talent Council (FSTC), bringing together government, industry, and academia to future-proof Malaysia’s workforce. Siva holds an MBA and is a software engineer by training.

INSPIRE Collab 2025 will be held online to allow participation from global higher educational institutions across different regions.

No. The conference is free for participants from partner institutions and invited collaborators.

The one-day programme features a keynote address, institutional introductions, thematic breakout discussions, and research cluster formation sessions, with follow-up action planning to support ongoing collaboration.

Yes. All registered participants who attend the sessions will receive a digital certificate of participation.

The forum aims to establish new interdisciplinary research clusters, develop collaborative project ideas, and strengthen international academic and industry networks.
