Bachelor of Supply Chain Managemen(Honours) Students Shine at Johor Port Authority’s Ship-Building Competition
On August 29th, 2024, students from Raffles University’s Bachelor of Supply Chain Management (Honours) programme showcased their creativity and teamwork at the Johor Port Authority (LPJ) and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Johor’s Ship-Building Competition Using LEGO. The competition, which aligned with the theme of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), gathered participants from various educational and vocational institutions, including Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan, Kolej Vokasional Pasir Gudang, Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology (UniKL MITEC), and more.
Raffles University’s Bachelor of Supply Chain Management (Honours) students: Toa Wen Xin, Ong Yen Chi, and Ng Kai Quan clinched the Consolation Prize, demonstrating their innovation and dedication. They even provided valuable insights into maritime logistics through activities such as the briefing on “The Birth of International Maritime Organisation (IMO) & SOLAS” by Captain Mazlan.
Officiated by YB Dato’ Monaliza Binti Suhaimi, General Manager of LPJ, the competition was a fantastic platform for students to engage in practical, hands-on learning, enhancing their understanding of the maritime industry outside the classroom.
Special recognition also goes to Toh Li Yen, a graduated senior from the Bachelor of Supply Chain Management (Honours) programme, whose achievements continue to inspire current students.
Congratulations to our Raffles University team! May this achievement encourage more students to pursue excellence and embrace opportunities for growth.
