Building Financial Awareness Through Financial Literacy and Scam Prevention
Raffles University held a Financial Literacy and Scam Prevention Talk on Wednesday, 25 June 2025, providing attendees with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of personal finance, money management and online safety.
The session focused on developing financial literacy while raising awareness of scam prevention, highlighting practical knowledge that can support attendees in managing their finances and staying safe online.
Developing Practical Financial Knowledge
Financial literacy plays an important role in helping individuals better understand how to manage their money. Through the talk, attendees learned about personal finance and money management, building greater awareness of financial matters relevant to everyday life.
The session also encouraged active participation, creating an opportunity for attendees to engage with the topics discussed.
Raising Awareness of Online Safety
Environmental awareness was another important aspect of the activity. As part of the trip, participants took part in a trash-cleaning initiative, encouraging them to play an active role in maintaining environmental cleanliness.
By combining hiking with environmental action, the activity encouraged participants to appreciate the natural surroundings while developing a greater awareness of environmental protection.


Extending the Learning Experience
The session also welcomed participation from the University of Southampton, with three students attending the talk.
Their participation added an external element to the activity while extending the learning experience beyond the Raffles University community.
Strengthening Financial and Digital Awareness
The Financial Literacy and Scam Prevention Talk provided attendees with an opportunity to learn more about managing money and staying safe online.
