A1 Design CHALLEnge
The A1 Design Challenge showcased student talents and fostered industry connections
The A1 Design Challenge, a collaboration between industry and academia, was held from 25th October 2023 to 16th December 2023. Students from the Faculty of Arts and Design showcased their design talents in this challenge, which was part of the Packaging Design module.
The challenge started with a briefing session on 25th October 2023 at Raffles University where students received essential information and guidelines. It provides students with the opportunity to present their works and engage in discussions with industry professionals. Additionally, an educational tour at A. K. Koh Enterprise Sdn Bhd was conducted to offer students with the insights into product manufacturing and packaging processes, enriching the students’ understanding of industry practices.
The Project Pitching Session fall on 16th December 2023 at Raffles University’s Talent Showcase: WHERE IDEAS COLLIDE. Each group presented their final works to representatives from A. K. Koh Enterprise Sdn Bhd, showcasing their innovative solutions and creative ideas developed throughout the challenge. After the presentation, the representatives from A. K. Koh Enterprise Sdn Bhd brought the projects back to the company for a company-wide voting process. The voting result was determined by the team of A. K. Koh Enterprise Sdn Bhd company. Throughout the whole process, students gained valuable experience, honed their design abilities, and established connections with industry professionals, setting the stage for future success in their careers.
The A1 Prize Giving Ceremony on 17th January 2024, was a special event where the winners were recognized for their excellent work. This collaboration with A. K. Koh Enterprise Sdn Bhd not only highlighted Raffles University designers’ dedication for shaping industry-ready professionals but also demonstrated our commitment to nurturing the seeds of innovation within our students.
