RAFFLES TEACHING AND LEARNING

The academic team at Raffles University is consistently refining and enhancing teaching and learning methods within the campus environment. Through regular reflection and assessment, faculty members strive to incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches that cater to diverse learning styles and promote student engagement.

1. Personalised Learning

– Small class size allow the lecturer to spend more time with each student and thus better understand their needs.

– Students work in studios on projects under supervision of a lecturer.

– RU has links with over 30 industrial partners, which enable us to deliver industry relevant programmes.

3. Practiced-Based Programme

– Students are involved with industry and community projects during their studies.

– Students undertake internships, which allow them to develop practical skills through on-the-job training.

4. Analytical Thinking

– Students use evidence-based problem solving to learn how to optimise and improve operations, and productivity.

5. Creative and Innovative Skill

– Students learn design thinking and apply it to create new product designs and to design or redesign services, process and strategy.

– Students develop their entrepreneurship skills learning how to commercialise their designs and business ideas.

While “Doing” our join in the career we pursue, we also seek continuously professional development through upskilling, reskilling and cross-skilling which is essential to promote relentless motivation and competency in response to the changing skills demand caused by technological advancement.

Innovation with Data-Driven Technology

The Raffles University academic team continues to grow its expertise in technology. We have integrated the latest digital and technology skills into the syllabus, including generative artificial intelligence and data analysis, to prepare students for using technology effectively.

Collaborative Cross-Disciplinary Interaction

Innovation and technology require the collaboration of different disciplines. Raffles University is committed to fostering a community of cross-disciplinary practices.

Sustainability &
Regenerative Design ​

Raffles University established a committee for sustainable development in 2023 to uphold the awareness and actions of students and staff as global citizens to the Mother Earth.

Several actions are undergoing to implement RU Green Policy. Sustainable Develop Goals are also integrated into University’s operation, curriculum development, and Teaching and learning.

Professional Development​

Raffles University would like to expand tertiary education beyond the boundaries of a traditional classroom setting. We are now offering some programmes in Open and Distance Learning modes.

Also, we have focused on supporting the alternative pathway to make education accessible to more people through TVET, micro-credential or professional programmes.
