Future Synthesis+: Celebrating a Decade of Convocations and a Lifetime of Becoming

Raffles University celebrated its 10th Convocation at the Raffles American School Auditorium, bringing together 207 graduates, more than 800 family members and guests, distinguished industry partners, and honoured VIPs for a ceremony that marked both academic achievement and a decade of graduates shaping industries and communities.

Held under the theme “Future Synthesis+: Evolved • Elevated • Empowered,” the Convocation reflected the University’s belief that meaningful progress is created through the synthesis of ideas, disciplines, creativity, technology, industry, and community. It is this convergence that prepares graduates not only for their careers, but also to contribute meaningfully to an increasingly interconnected world.

Graduation represented more than the completion of a qualification. It marked the transformation of learners into confident professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, and future leaders prepared to make a positive impact on society.

As Valedictorian of the Class of 2026, Ivy Ong Le Yi shared in her address,

“Success is not about how quickly we achieve our goals, but about the courage to overcome challenges and keep moving forward.”

Her words reflected the spirit of the occasion—one defined by resilience, perseverance, and purposeful growth.

The ceremony also paid tribute to the people behind every graduate’s achievement. Ivy reminded the audience that “behind every graduate there is a strong support system,” recognising the families, friends, lecturers, mentors, and peers whose encouragement, guidance, and belief helped shape each graduate’s journey. Their presence served as a reminder that every success celebrated on stage is made possible through a community that believes in the potential of others.

In addition to the conferment of qualifications across the Faculties of Arts and Design, Business, AI and Robotics, Social Sciences, and postgraduate programmes, the ceremony recognised graduates whose outstanding achievements in academic excellence, leadership, innovation, and service were honoured through several prestigious awards, including the Chew Hua Seng Foundation Award, President Award, FutureME Achiever Award, Marrybrown Excellence Award, and Dean’s Award.

Raffles University also presented the Seeding the FutureU Award to its valued industry partners in recognition of their continued collaboration in enriching student learning through real-world projects, industry engagement, and meaningful partnerships that bridge education with professional practice. These collaborations reflect the University’s commitment to ensuring that learning extends beyond the classroom and remains connected to the evolving needs of industry and society.

As the Class of 2026 joins the University’s growing alumni community, they become part of a legacy shaped by learning, support, and ambition. At Raffles University, graduation is not the end of the journey—it is the beginning of a lifetime of becoming. As they embark on new opportunities around the world, they carry forward the knowledge, values, relationships, and experiences that will continue to shape their lives and the communities they serve.

Seeding the FutureU Award

Raffles University also presented the prestigious Seeding the FutureU Award. The Seeding the FutureU Award was presented for the third time at a Raffles University convocation.

This award will be given to three industry partners whose guidance and advice foster a dynamic two-way exchange, enhancing academic excellence and equipping students for real-world challenges.
