STUDENT COMMUNITY

At Raffles University, we encourage students to participate in various internal & external activities to build their exposure and experience in community projects. Also, the student clubs are set up with the aim of increasing the bonding between the coursemate via activities and field trip to enable students to experience an unique university lifestyle.

To better encourage the students to engage with the student clubs and co-curricular activities, Professional Development Skill (PDS) is introduced. It aims to encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities. By participating in the activities students will gain merit points, and those students who achieved the minimum merit points will be awarded a certificate at the end of their studies.

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (SRC)

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is dedicated to representing the students of RU, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their voices are heard. Acting as a conduit between the student body and the university administration, the SRC facilitates open communication and promotes transparency. The SRC is also committed to organising various activities and events across faculties and student clubs. This dedication to service underscores a commitment to not only improving the student experience but also strengthening the RU community. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a thriving and vibrant campus where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.

Create a strong community that supports each other, learn and grow together.

Compulsory for: BID & DID students
Activities: DICE Talk Series, T-shirt Competition, Gathering, Workshop, Deco Party
Membership Fees:RM40/Semester for newcomers, RM30/Semester for existing members

FASHION DESIGN CLUB (RUFD)

RUFC was formed in 2014 and run by Fashion Design students. We are welcoming and allow any individuals who are interesting in fashion to join with us and share their passion through the club. We are also provide the opportunity to learn more about the fashion industry. Our goal is to form a community to let students support each other in the process of learning fashion.

Suitable for: Suitable for everyone and compulsory for BFD & DFD students
Activities: Workshops and vertical project with various types of fashion technique and Field trips
Membership Fees: RM35/ per semester, compulsory to all of the club members.

BUSINESS CLUB (RUBC)

Welcome to Raffles University Business Club, where business professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs come together to foster innovation, growth, and success. Our club is a dynamic hub for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaborative opportunities that empower individuals and businesses to thrive in the ever-evolving world of commerce.

Suitable for: All RU Students.
Activities: Webinars, Workshops (Portfolio Building), Fundraising, Virtual Games, Learn about Investment session, Physical games between committee and members, Industrial site educational trip, Festival celebration
Membership Fees: RM25 (Life time)

LOGISTICS CLUB (RAFULOC)

We ensure you that your journey in our club will be enriched as we have multiple activities and event. Students with business background are easier to understand and take part in some of the activities. For those whom don’t have a business background, we can learn along with the activities.

Suitable for: Anyone who is interested in Supply Chain & Logistics. *Compulsory for BSM Students
Activities: Academic Competitions (Case study, Debate, Project, etc), Workshops, Site visit to different companies, factories and warehouses, Bonding activities (Gathering, Sports, etc)
Membership Fees: RM20 (Lifetime), will have extra charges on certain events.

RUPA is a platform for all Psychology students to hold social gatherings and cultivate healthy relationships.

Suitable for: Compulsory for all BPY & DPY Students

RUIC is a place where design students can interact and socialize with other members of the club. Students get an excellent opportunity to expand their perspectives in the field of design through activities and workshops.

Suitable for: Anyone who is interested in Design. *Compulsory for BGD / BMD / DVC and DGA Students

RUDT is a platform to learn, cooperate on digital technology-related projects or participate in external hackathons.

Suitable for: Anyone who is interested in Technology / AI. *Compulsory for BAI / BDS / BIT / DIT Students
Activities: Workshops (Python, JavaScript, Web development)

A critical thinking club for foundation courses students of Raffles University!

Youth Sports & E-Sports Club (RUYSEC)

Ruysec is a non-academic club and our aim is to distress students from the daily study. Besides that, we also bond student together via activities such as sport, e-sport, etc. Ruysec also serves as a social platform that allows students to meet and interact with peers that share similar interests ad themselves. 

Suitable for: All Students
Activities: Sports events such as badminton, Bonding activity, E-sport competition 
Membership Fees: N/A, will have extra charges on certain events

Art Club

The Art Club is a place for practicing artists to hone in on their skills, develop their techniques and portfolios, collaborate with other professionals, create bonds with the community through the arts, and learn how to work together through group projects that will beautify the university and community. The purpose of “Art Club” is to have a casual creative space dedicated to working on personal and collaborative art projects. 

Suitable for: All students prefer relaxed & non-compulsory activities, or interested in any media of art
Activities:  Live Figure Sketching, Art workshops/studies, Relaxed drawing gatherings, Mural painting, Art gallery/museum excursion
Membership Fees: RM50 per year/3 semesters, RM20 per semester.

DANCE CLUB (RUDC)

Raffles University Dance Club (RUDC) is created for students in Raffles University who are interested in all forms of dance. RUDC is for all students regardless of their dance background. Students that don’t know how to dance are also welcomed to join, as the students will be guided by the student. RUDC also will be planning to create our own competition team in order to participate in intervarsity competitions as well as performing too.

Suitable for: All RU Students
Activities: Intervarsity competition, Workshop, Gatherings, On stage performance, Annual prom

Welcome to RAFFLEFS UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL TEAM, your premier destination for everything basketball. Our club is a passionate community of ballers, coaches, and fans united by our love for the game. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, we’re here to help you shoot for the stars and slam dunk your basketball dreams.

Suitable for: All RU Students
Activities: League, Tournaments Friendly matches.
Membership Fees: RM 25 for membership and RM 25 for club tees. Total will be RM 50. All members compulsory to buy club tees

Leo Club of Raffles University is a social-cultural club which is affiliated with Lions Club International, with the aim of providing community service. It’s sponsored by Lions Clubs of Johor Jaya. The club provide young people with further development of Leadership, Experience and Opportunity within our global cause. Together We Serve.

Booster Club

Booster Club provides a platform for students to engage in meaningful extracurricular activities that supplement their academic pursuits and foster personal and professional growth. It is believed that, this club would contribute to a more holistic educational experience for our students. Apart from that, this club aims to create a dynamic platform where students can engage, collaborate, and develop new skills beyond the boundaries of the classroom and fostering a sense of community, personal growth, and endless opportunities for our fellow students.

Suitable for: Students who want to improve all aspects of themselves
Activities: Workshops and seminars, Skill-building sessions, Guest speaker events, Volunteering and community outreach programme, Competitions, debates, and hackathons, Cultural events and performances, Field trips and educational excursions 
Membership Fees: RM20 (Lifetime membership for RU students) to facilitate setup and administration.

Football Club provides a platform for students to participate in regular training and matches, our club will contribute to the university’s wellness initiatives. Running the club will require members to take on leadership roles, fostering personal development and organizational skills that can be valuable in their future careers.

RUMC is a community for those interested in music to share that enjoyment. All are welcome, as musical talent and experience are not a requirement; we would like to share our love and passion with those willing to listen.
