DR CHAI WEN JIA
Faculty Dean of Social Sciences;
Dr Chai Wen Jia is a graduate of Psychology and holds a doctoral degree in Neuroscience (Neurosc.D) from Universiti Sains Malaysia. With an affinity for the study of cognition, her academic journey began with the investigation of cognitive fallacies, which developed into a fascination towards the human brain that compelled her to the field of neuroscience. She employed functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in her doctoral project to study the working memory of patients with traumatic brain injury. In her pursuit of uncovering the secrets of the brain and its relationship with human behaviour, Dr Chai further completed her postdoctoral training in the neurorehabilitation of patients with subacute stroke. She investigated the adoption of robotic device in the gait training of patients. Having spent a decade in the academic setting, she has assumed multiple academic roles, including graduate tutor, cognitive skills trainer, university lecturer, as well as researcher. Dr Chai’s research interests lie in cognitive neuroscience, positive psychology, and understanding the brain-behaviour relationship. She endeavours to unite mental wellness and brain health.

Professor Emeritus Dr Graeme Britton
Professor Emeritus of Raffles University
Prof Graeme Britton retired from Raffles University, Malaysia, in 2021, where I was President and CEO. I started up Raffles University, a joint venture between Raffles Education, Singapore, and the Malaysian Government and led it from 2013-2021. I am still attached to the university as an Emeritus Professor, assisting in research and carrying out part time consultancy for Small and Medium Enterprises.
Prof Graeme has 41 years working experience in universities in Finland (Tampere University of Technology), Malaysia (Raffles University), New Zealand (University of Canterbury), and Singapore (Nanyang Technological University). I worked in both the public and private tertiary education sectors, 27 years in the former and 14 years in the latter.
Prof Graeme’s research and consultancy focuses on the design and implementation of governance and management systems in Small and Medium Enterprises, including not-for-profit organisations, using the systems approach. I am an expert on the ISO management system standards. He has published 102 journal and refereed conference papers, 2 books and 8 book chapters.

IDr Mohd Khedzir joined the RU family in 2016. Prior to joining Raffles, he obtained his Diploma in Interior Design from Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM). Even though active in the industries, he pursues his BSc of Housing, Building and Planning majoring in Interior Design from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 1999.
He entered the education field in 2002 when he joined MARA Youth Junior College (MRSM) as an art teacher and in 2003, he joined Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as a lecturer until 2015, while completing his MA in Visual Communication in 2007. His passion in research involves museum spatial, circulation design and heritage studies. He did quite a few academic research pieces and published in several journal and proceedings.
Despite his activities as an academic, he is also active in the professional body. Currently, he is a registered member of Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) Interior Designers, Corporate Members of Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) and recently as an accreditation panel member of Council of Architectural Accreditation and Education Malaysia (CAEM) Board of Architect Malaysia for Interior Design Programme.

Ts Syukri has been in the academic world with more than 10 years of experience. Ts Syukri promotes the exploration of technology and digitalisation through the design process in the teaching and learning environment. His passion in this area has awarded him the Best Paper Award at the Proceedings of the 22nd IASTEM International Conference in Tokyo.
At Raffles University, Ts Syukri facilitate the professional growth and development of interior design students through industry collaborations, exchange programmes such as the prestigious SAKURA Exchange Program in Science and research projects. He has been involved in various interior design modules such as design studios, CAD and computer modelling, design theory and design principles.
Ts Syukri has a multifaceted academic background ranging from Diploma and Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Malaysia; and Master of Engineering from Japan. He also obtained multiple professional qualifications that includes MBOT Professional Technologist, MIID Academic Member, LAM Graduate Architect and recently as an accreditation panel member of Council of Architectural Accreditation and Education Malaysia (CAAEM) Board of Architect Malaysia for Interior Design Programme.

Myles Cummings is a multifaceted creative with a postgraduate qualification in Architecture from Manchester Metropolitan University and a BA (Hons.) in Architecture (2:1) from the same institution. With over 20 years of experience as a university lecturer, he inspires the next generation of designers. His architectural work reflects a commitment to sustainability and community, incorporating local materials and traditional techniques. Myles has received several awards, including the FIFARC Award for his short film Gargoyles, the Al Ain Photography Prize, and the EyeEm Greenpeace Award, with his work showcased in exhibitions such as Thirst at Al Serkal House, UAE, and the AOP Gallery.
An accomplished drone pilot, Myles uses aerial videography to capture unique perspectives and has a growing interest in generative AI and digital fabrication. He has contributed articles to leading journals such as Computer Arts, Digit, and Urbis. Based in France, he explores the intersection of design and culture through his project house, creating spaces that resonate with their surroundings. With a keen eye for design, photography, and filmmaking, Myles invites audiences to see the world from new heights, blending tradition, technology, and creativity.
Ms Sharon holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. She was a Project Manager in Singapore. As a project manager, she heads the project department for all administration, agreement, operation and project matters. She managed a team from project proposal to implementation and completion of design and build projects, while collaborate with a wide range of industry partners to ensure projects meet the performance standards and follow schedule for project deliverable.
She was an Interior Designer in Singapore and Malaysia. She has designed and delivered various interior design projects such as residential, office, shopping mall, retail, stage, and others. She has handled interior design projects from agreement, consult, conceptual design, detail drawings, selection of materials and finishes, project schedule and planning, to submission of projects. She loves to design and create something good, functional, yet aesthetic, from a small piece of furniture, to a big piece of interior space.

For more than eight years, Ts Ahmad Faiz Bin Hassan Naziri has worked in the academic and construction industries concurrently. He has been involved in several notable construction projects as an architect while also being able to teach students in the field of architecture and design. His areas of expertise are history in architecture and design, and he has worked on several measured drawing projects for both academic and professional fields.
Ts. Ahmad Faiz graduated from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) with a Master of Architecture (LAM Part II) and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (LAM Part I). In addition to actively taking part in competitions and innovation events, he has produced several research papers, books, and other publications.
Being a finalist for ‘Kumpulan Inovatif dan Kreatif’ (KIK) at the National Public University level is among Ts. Ahmad Faiz’s best accomplishments, while also being awarded for Best Male Presenter at the University Northern Chapter level. He has worked on several joint projects with local neighborhoods, schools, and other communities to create interactive educational crafts, murals, and other art for the locals to enjoy.
Furthermore, he served as the project and design architect for several architectural projects and has collaborated with Malaccan and Perak State Government in R&D to produce masterplan tourism plan. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the architecture and design field, ge hopes to teach and assist students in developing awareness of the importance of becoming the greatest “you” you can be.

Ms Lim Su Ching holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Housing, Building, and Planning. She is currently conducting research in Architecture at the University of Technology Malaysia.
Ms Su Ching has more than 17 years of progressive experience in the Design Industry. She is working with 2 of the well-known companies in Singapore, specialising in bringing brands to life through experience.
She uses various techniques for every project and enables it to find the most appropriate media for any brand to live. She also has experience creating product launches, live events, exhibition stands, trade booths, and residential and Commercial projects for numerous industries.
Ms Su Ching was awarded Best Booth Design Award by the Pico Group. She was also part of the design team with Google in 4 immersive events, engaging over 10,000 google developers and activating 42 google experiences. She published an article in the Malaysia Journal of Sustainable Environment.

MR TANG Yong Kuan (MR YK) holds a Master of Architecture from the National University of Malaysia. He has at least 5 years of teaching experience at Raffles University. He has over 20 years of experience in the Interior Design Industry in Singapore and Malaysia. He is also known as the founder of Formota Sdn Bhd.
Mr YK won various awards throughout his journey in Interior Design Industry. He won the Gold Award for Best Boutique Hotel Design in Atap Design Awards 2022 and Bronze Award for Best Hospitality Design Award in Johor Interior Designers’ Association Award 2022.
Mr YK is also active in various associations or networks. He was a Deputy President of Johor Interior Designers’ Association from 2014 to 2016. He was also a founding president of BNI Transcend Chapter BNI Transcend Chapter from 2016 – 2019. He is the founding member of the Rotary Club Impian Emas since 2022.
