Hiking with Purpose: Raffles University’s Sireh Park Hiking Trip
On Sunday, 1 June 2025, participants took part in a hiking trip at Sireh Park, combining physical activity, appreciation of nature and environmental awareness in an outdoor setting.
The activity was organised to encourage participants to stay active while enjoying nature, while also strengthening teamwork and fostering a greater sense of responsibility towards environmental cleanliness.
Connecting Physical Activity with Nature
The hiking trip provided participants with an opportunity to engage in physical activity while spending time in a natural environment.
All participants successfully completed the hiking activity safely. Through the experience, participants strengthened their awareness of the importance of physical fitness while enjoying a positive outdoor experience.
Taking Responsibility for the Environment
Environmental awareness was another important aspect of the activity. As part of the trip, participants took part in a trash-cleaning initiative, encouraging them to play an active role in maintaining environmental cleanliness.
By combining hiking with environmental action, the activity encouraged participants to appreciate the natural surroundings while developing a greater awareness of environmental protection.

Strengthening Teamwork Through Shared Experience
Beyond physical fitness and environmental awareness, the hiking trip also aimed to strengthen teamwork among participants. Completing the activity together provided an opportunity for team bonding and contributed to a positive and enjoyable outdoor experience. The activity also involved Lions Club Johor Jaya, adding an external collaborative element to the initiative.
