Field Trip to Kuala Lumpur: Financial Insights and Cultural Exposure
Students from Raffles University 商业学系 explored Kuala Lumpur on an educational field trip,The visit offered an integrated experience of financial learning and cultural exposure. The field trip designed to provide a comprehensive blend of financial knowledge and cultural immersion. This initiative aimed to enrich students’ learning experience by connecting classroom theory with real-world practices, allowing them to better understand the complexities of the financial world while also appreciating the city’s rich heritage.
The first stop was Bursa Malaysia. Students explored a variety of investment platforms, gaining a detailed understanding of equities, bonds, and other financial instruments. Through interactive sessions with market professionals, they learned about the critical concepts of risk and return, as well as the factors that influence market fluctuations enabling them to understand potential investment gains over time. The visit effectively bridged theoretical concepts with practical application, enhancing students’ financial literacy.




Experiencing Cultural and Social Dynamics
The educational journey continued at Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery, where students delved into Malaysia’s rich financial history and the evolution of money. Exhibits showcased historic currencies and illustrated how trade and transactions were conducted before the establishment of modern banking systems. By exploring these displays, students gained a broader perspective on how Malaysia’s financial system has evolved and how economic policies shape national development.
The visit concluded at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, offering students the opportunity to experience Malaysia’s dynamic urban environment first hand. Surrounded by vibrant Chinese New Year decorations and festive displays, they observed how seasonal celebrations influence consumer behaviour and retail marketing strategies. Students were also exposed to Malaysia’s diverse food culture, reflecting the country’s multicultural society and its impact on business practices. This final stop provided meaningful insight into how commerce, culture, and community intersect within a modern metropolitan setting. The field trip offered a comprehensive and well-rounded learning opportunity that will support students’ future endeavours in the business and finance sectors.
