On 8 January 2025, 16 students from the Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) (Honours) programme at 莱佛士大学 visited A.K. Koh Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. (also known as A1) in Senai for an insightful industry experience for the module – Manufacturing Accounting. The visit included a guided tour of the production site and warehouse, led by Mr Koh Chung Jie, the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Winson Chong Yuin Chan, Senior Business Planning Executive, and Mr Ivan Fong Choon Hau, the Chief Financial Officer of A.K. Koh Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. They observed the production site and warehouse, which provided a firsthand understanding of manufacturing process and inventory management processes. An insightful talk was given by Mr Ivan, students gained valuable knowledge and practical insights into the company’s operations. Mr Ivan’s talk highlighted the importance of key business practices, such as budgeting, inventory management, cost control, and sustainability. He elaborated on how sustainability initiatives impact the company’s financial performance, emphasising that adopting sustainable practices can lead to long-term cost savings, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced brand reputation.  Students also learned about the factors to consider when setting a budget, such as resource allocation, sales projections, market demand, and operational capacity.  The discussion on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) practices offered insights into how A1 collaborates with other businesses to produce components that integrate seamlessly into finished products. Overall, the trip was organised by the Faculty of Business Lecturer, Ms Tan Ling Lie, accompanied by Mr Suraj =Mariappan from Raffles University Centre for Professional Development (RUCPD), with the goal of bridging theoretical learning with real-world business applications, enhancing the students’ understanding of corporate operations, sustainability, and financial decision-making.
