BLOCKCHAIN CERTIFICATE

Raffles University has launched the blockchain certificate in 2021. The launching of blockchain certificates is expected to be a common practice among tertiary education in the near future. 

The university has contracted a company called Accredify to issue final transcripts and awards using blockchain technology. Accredify is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified, a globally recognised information security management system standard. 莱佛士毕业生将不再收到纸质证书。取而代之的是，他们将获得一个.opencert文件和Accredify的链接。激活链接后，将显示他们的电子证书。雇主和其他大学可以使用该链接验证学生成绩单和证书的真实性。

学生可自由地自行打印纸质证书副本。然而，如果被要求验证证书的真实性，他们必须向请求信息的人提供链接。

这项技术对学生有以下主要优势：

1. 学生无需担心保管成绩单和证书的安全性，他们只需要保存好链接即可。
2. 学生无需担心丢失成绩单和证书。在区块链技术之前，如果学生丢失了证书，他们必须申请重新发行，这既耗时又费钱。现在，如果他们丢失了链接，学校可以通过电子方式向他们发送链接。
3. 节省时间：批准、发行和接收数字文件所需的时间比等待纸质证书邮寄或领取要快得多。
4.  成本节省：发行电子证书的成本远远低于打印纸质证书。
