Showcases Psychological Wellness at IIB Thematic Talk

The Faculty of Social Science at 莱佛士大学 was honoured to participate in the IIB Thematic Talk & Networking Series 2.0: Healthcare & Wellness, organised by Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) on 24 July 2025 at Afiniti Medini, Iskandar Puteri.  

Representing Raffles University, Dr Amos introduced the newly launched Raffles University Psychological Wellness Centre (RUPC), established under the Faculty of Social Science. RUPC aims to provide accessible mental health support for the community while serving as a practical training hub for psychology students.  Through RUPC, Raffles University combines academic expertise with real world practice, reflecting its commitment to advancing psychological wellness and preparing students to meet evolving healthcare needs.

Raffles University’s participation in the IIB Thematic Talk reflects its commitment to shaping future-ready psychology professionals. Through the Psychological Wellness Centre, the university provides students with hands-on experience while contributing meaningful support to community mental wellness.

The Raffles University Psychological Wellness Centre is dedicated to advancing mental health and well-being in Johor and beyond. RUPC combines clinical expertise, research and community outreach to provide consultations, workshops, and training. With HRDF certified professionals and a wide range of tailored programmes, organisations and communities to foster healthier, more resilient lives.

Workshops and Training
RUPC has facilitated impactful programmes on topics such as Mental Health Awareness, Art Therapy for Well-being, Effective Communication in an Organisation, Demystifying the Brain, and Comprehensive Sex Education. These programmes, along with many others, are designed to address current needs across diverse audiences.

Core Services
RUPC offers professional services and learning opportunities to support psychological well being, including:

Neurofeedback Assessment – A non-invasive brainwave assessment with real-time feedback to identify areas of dysfunction.
Psychological Assessment – Comprehensive evaluations using cognitive, emotional, personality, and behavioural tests for diagnosis or guidance.
Counselling and Coaching – Confidential sessions that address challenges, strengthen coping strategies, and encourage personal growth.
Psychoanalytic and Creative Psychotherapy – A therapeutic approach that explores unconscious patterns and past experiences through methods such as dream analysis, art, and sand-tray therapy.
