RUID WALLPAPER COMPETITION

Interior Designers: Lin Zi Yi, Tay Wei Yi, Ho Suet Tene & Vincent Lim Zhi Siang
Organiser: Raffles University Interior Design (RUID)

My idea of this wallpaper design came from documentary, which is called "SEASPIRACY" it is talk about how commercial fishing devastates marine animals. Each fish is an individual with a unique personality and they desire to live. In order to draw attention to this topic and protect the ocean, I designed a series of wallpapers about fish. As I have mentioned, each fish is an individual, they do have their pair and "family", so in this wallpaper, I designed all the fish are in pairs, to tell people do not forget they are also life, and they deserve to be valued, even though they live in the ocean, where we cannot see it.

With sharp brush strokes, these background wallpapers signify the increasingly fast pace of our modern lives. People need something botanical to destress our lives, so the colours used are colours of nature, and also organic shapes to add a sense of comfort. This wallpaper can be used in relaxed interior.

For this wallpaper, the design is focused on the children's room, the concept of it is to let the children have their own natural world and use their existing furniture to create their world because I think all children have a creative mind.
