INTRODUCTION

Raffles University cares about your personal data protection. This notice clarifies how Raffles University processes your data from the point we collect, use, share, dispose of and the security measure that we established to ensure your personal data is well protected.

Raffles University encompasses the main branding of Raffles University and its sub-brands, including but not limited to the Raffles University Centre of Professional Development, the Raffles University TVET Centre, the faculties of Raffles University, and all departments and Centres within Raffles University.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

We collect your personal data which range from your name, identity card Number / Passport Number, home address, e-mail address, phone number, gender, date of birth, previous qualification, photo and images, video and voice recording, marital status, emergencies contact person(s), family / guardian information, schoolwork / assignment details, work experience and salary range.

Some of the personal data that we process may include what is defined as ‘sensitive personal data’ under the Act, and these include, but are not restricted to: Race, Religion, Health, Records of misconduct and disciplinary action, Records of criminal offence.

This sensitive information shall be treated carefully by Raffles University and will only be used for specific purposes. It will not be released to a third party without your explicit consent unless it is necessary to protect your interests.

SOURCE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION
We gather your personal data from:

1. Various type of inquiry, application and / or registration forms (online or manual)
2. All other internal, or external forms (online or manual)
3. Social media
4. Previous qualification related document and / or certificate
5. Cookies
6. Third parties that partner with Raffles University

REASON FOR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION
We collect your personal data to:

1. To communicate the product to the prospective students
2.  To maintain student / alumni personal data
3. As a record for internal and external activities such as but not limited to counselling activities, graduation, field trip, internship.
4. Process your request to admission process
5. To comply with any regulatory, audit or security-related requirement

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
We only process your personal data within Malaysia. Your personal data will not be transfer to any place outside Malaysia.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
We disclose your personal data to:

1. The authority for legal / regulatory purpose such as Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysian Qualification Agency, QS, Malaysian Immigration Department or other relevant government department / agencies
2. Industry regulator, professional or accreditation bodies
3. Third parties that provide the internships or attachment placement / field trip
4. Third parties appointed by Raffles University to provide services
5. Other institution or company within Raffles Education (online and offline)

SECURITY MEASURE
We take these measures to protect your personal data:

1. By ensuring your personal data is kept as required by Act 709
2. By ensuring our staff not to misuse your personal data
   Nevertheless, you are required to ensure the security of your password and not to disclose it to another party to reduce the risk of data breaches.

PERSONAL DATA RETENTION PERIOD
We take reasonable steps to ensure that such Personal Data are only retained for as long as the information is necessary.

YOUR RIGHTS
You have the rights to:

1. Correct / update your personal data by contacting us at Enquiry@Raffles-university.edu.my or SAS@Raffles-university.edu.my
2. Access your personal data which we process and keep with us
3. Stop any of our new promotional products sent to you
4. Withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data
