Raffles University Orientation is a compulsory activity for all the new Raffles Students. It is aimed to enable the new Raffles Students to get prepared for the new university student life. It usually takes 1 – 2 days. The date of orientation will be written in the offer letter.

WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITY IN ORIENTATION?

Raffles University President, Associate Professor Greg Pritchard, will deliver a welcoming address during the orientation session. He will highlight our recent achievements and outline the university’s goals, fostering excitement and motivation among students for their academic journey ahead.
Raffles University provides a diverse range of physical and e-resources to enrich your academic journey. Alongside, the Learning Support Centre (LSC) conducts workshops designed to enhance your learning experience. Coupled with personalised assistance from both LSC and the librarian, these resources empower students to excel in their studies and attain their academic objectives efficiently.
Student Affairs and Services (SAS) is essential at Raffles University, covering key topics such as Student ID issuance, Grading System explanation, Attendance Policy clarification, Payment procedures, Examination guidelines, and semester-specific tasks. Understanding SAS ensures students’ seamless integration into university life, academic success, and adherence to administrative requirements.
During orientation, Raffles University will activate and guide students on accessing platforms such as Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and Open Learning, enhancing their learning experience. Comprehensive support will be provided to ensure effective utilisation of these tools for a seamless academic journey. Additionally, the university’s safety guide will be briefed, prioritising a secure and enriching environment for all students.

Raffles University implements the PDS system to incentivise student participation in internal and external events. Points are earned through event participation and accumulate towards a PDS certificate upon completion of their studies. This encourages student engagement and enriches their overall university experience.

A campus tour at Raffles University introduces students to its diverse facilities, offering a comprehensive overview of the campus layout. This guided experience ensures a smooth transition into university life by familiarising students with the resources and amenities available to support their academic journey.
During this session, you will have the opportunity to meet your Programme Director (PD). They will provide a brief introduction to your programme and assist you in navigating the module registration process. This personalised guidance ensures a smooth transition into your academic journey and sets the foundation for success.

Meet with the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Raffles University to gain insight into student lifestyles and concerns. As student representatives, they offer valuable perspectives on campus life, activities, and student welfare. Engaging with the SRC fosters a deeper understanding of the student community and enhances the university experience.
