Held on 24 February 2025 at the RU Seminar Hall, this session explored the role of design in community development, highlighting Foo’s contributions to revitalizing cultural spaces like RexKL and Kongsikl. Students gained a fresh perspective on how grassroots initiatives can drive urban renewal, shape cultural identity, and foster meaningful social change through creativity and engagement.
Design Series Master Talk 2: From Zero to Influence: The Secrets Behind Viral Marketing
On 5 March 2025, James Chew delivered an engaging session titled 从零到影响力——爆款行销背后的秘密 at the Open Studio. As a branding and social media expert, he provided valuable insights into viral marketing strategies, covering topics such as personal branding, social media algorithms, high-engagement content creation, and social currency. Through case studies and practical tips, attendees learned how to build an influential online presence and leverage digital platforms for maximum impact.
Design Series Master Talk 3: Mascot for Brand Communication and Promotion
The final session on 21 March 2025 featured Eddie Lau in an online seminar focusing on the use of mascots in brand communication and promotion. Lau, a 我们的课程 Leader at HKDI, shared his expertise in advertising, graphic design, and cultural product development, demonstrating how mascots enhance brand identity and audience engagement. Participants explored the psychology behind successful mascot design, its role in brand recognition and loyalty, and real-world case studies of award-winning campaigns.
