Celebrating Diversity: A Reflection on Raffles University’s Roots & Rhythm Cultural Day
At Raffles University, education reaches far beyond the boundaries of lecture theatres and textbooks. True learning also lies in understanding diverse perspectives, forming meaningful connections, and honouring the vibrant traditions that shape our global campus community.
On 3 June, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the campus Atrium transformed into a bustling hub of heritage and unity for Roots & Rhythm, our annual Cultural Day organised by the Student Representative Council (SRC). Driven by the vision to “bring light upon your culture”, the event aimed to foster cultural awareness, strengthen student unity, and preserve rich heritage while offering a fun, interactive platform for everyone involved.
Students from various backgrounds came together to share their heritage through vibrant performances, captivating stories, colourful traditional attire, and delicious food-tasting sessions. The Atrium was filled with music, rhythm, and shared experiences, proving that while our roots may differ, our community grows stronger together.
Beyond the energetic displays and interactive stalls, Roots & Rhythm served as a wonderful reminder of the strength found in our diversity.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Raffles SRC, the organisers, and every student and guest who participated to make this event truly unforgettable.
