INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION

Raffles University recently organised an international student orientation, an event tailored to welcome and prepare international students for their academic journey in Malaysia. This event played a pivotal role in familiarising students with the essential guidelines and regulations associated with studying in this diverse and culturally rich country.

During the orientation, Raffles Alumni – Mikhail Conrad ROBERTO (Bachelor of Multimedia Design (Honours), who had previously experienced life in Malaysia, shared valuable insights and personal anecdotes, offering a unique perspective on living in the country. Their firsthand knowledge served as a valuable resource for newcomers, providing practical tips and guidance on adapting to the Malaysian way of life.

Additionally, as part of the orientation program, students were encouraged to participate in various cultural activities that was organised by RU student representative council (RU SRC). These activities were designed to offer a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s diverse ethnic makeup and the rich tapestry of cultures that coexist harmoniously within the country. Through these experiences, students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local traditions, customs, and practices, fostering a sense of cultural appreciation and respect.

The international student orientation at Raffles University served as a significant stepping stone for students embarking on their academic journey in Malaysia. Beyond offering essential guidance on academic requirements and regulations, it created a welcoming atmosphere where students could connect with peers, learn from alumni, and engage with the vibrant Malaysian culture.
