FIELD TRIP TO MACAU

CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY STUDY AT MACAU

What is the best way to learn cross-cultural psychology? VISIT another country and explore the country as a local.

Raffles Students from Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) visited Macau for a 4D3N cross-cultural psychology study. The students visited a few tourist attractions including Ruins of St. Paul’s, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf etc etc. Students also visit some local places such as Hong Kong Night Market and local style of Kopitiam.

The topic of this study trip is – “Diversity created meaning of life”. In this project, there would be 4 groups of students choosing a type of lifestyle across at least two (2) culture and search for the following dimensions:

– The meaning of this lifestyle in each of the culture
– The local attitude toward this lifestyle
– Compare and explain these two lifestyles with theories in cross-cultural psychology.

Thanks to Dr Samuel for capturing these lovely moments of Macau and students. We would also like to express our appreciation to Mr Tony Yiu from Guidestar system in Hong Kong in this 4D3N trips and introduced them the unique culture of Macau. He brought our students to explore the local places in Macau, enabled our students to experience the typical Portuguese food and sponsored the whisper system for our students in this trip.

These students are going to share the result of their studies on 13 November 2019, 1pm -4:30pm at Raffles University. Drop by our university if you are available.
