Dear Students and Parents,
The Malaysian Government has extended the Restricted Movement Order by two weeks to 14 April.
Raffles University is currently operating as a virtual university and will continue to do so until further notice. We are doing our best to ensure students’ studies are not delayed.
There is no change to the starting date for the May semester. Raffles University will start the new semester on campus on Monday 4 May, orientation day will be held on Thursday 30 April.
On re-opening special measures will be taken to minimise the risk of COVID-19 virus transfer.
The examination period is within the extension period. The examinations will be held online. You will be given instructions later on the rules and regulations for the online examinations.
Info Day and Open Day on 4th April 2020 and 11 April 2020 respectively are cancelled until further notice.
You do not have to defer your education. Raffles University is accepting enrolments for the May semester.

Some of you may be confused by recent newspaper reports stating that Universities are not allowed to run on-line classes or research during the Government Movement Control Order period of 18-31 March 2020.
I can confirm this matter has been raised with the Ministry of Education who have confirmed that universities can run on-line classes as long as students are not grouped together. Similarly for research, there cannot be face-to-face contact between the supervisors and the students.
Raffles University is running as a virtual university during this period with students and staff working at home. Raffles University complies with the Ministry’s orders.
Please do not worry, stay calm and continue with your learning.
I wish you success in your studies and examinations.
Professor Dr. Graeme Britton,
Dear Students and Parents,
In response to the Malaysia Movement Control Order that was announced by Prime Minister of Malaysia on 16 March 2020, Raffles University’s city campus at Kotaraya will be closed from 18 March 2020 – 31 March 2020. Raffles University will continue to operate as a virtual university during this period.
We are taking all steps to assist you, our students, to complete this semester successfully. You will be required to complete the rest of the semester through online classroom, presentations and examinations until further notice. Further information about our virtual operations and what you need to do will be issued from time to time during the temporary closure.
