8th March 2025, <strong><span style=\"color: #f08c00;\">\u83b1\u4f5b\u58eb\u5927\u5b66<\/span><\/strong> took a meaningful step toward supporting rehabilitation through the Mindfulness Approach for Cravings workshop. Conducted by<a href=\"https:\/\/raffles-university.edu.my\/cn\/raffles-academics-management\/\"> Dr Shubashini Mathialagan<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/raffles-university.edu.my\/cn\/programme\/#social-sciences\">Faculty of Social Science<\/a>, this three-hour session was designed to help individuals in a rehabilitation Centre develop healthier coping mechanisms for managing strong substance cravings.<\/p><p>This initiative aligns with <a href=\"https:\/\/raffles-university.edu.my\/cn\/showcasing-raffles-universitys-commitment-to-the-sdgs\/\">Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)<\/a> 3: Good Health and Well-being, reinforcing the importance of mental resilience in recovery. The session included a detailed presentation along with three mindfulness-based techniques to help participants manage cravings effectively, both within the rehabilitation Centre and beyond:<\/p><ul><li>Mindful Breathing Techniques \u2013 Teaching controlled breathing to cultivate awareness and reduce impulsivity.<\/li><li>5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique \u2013 \u00a0Encouraging focus on the present moment through sensory awareness.<\/li><li>Activation of Senses Technique \u2013 Using mindful engagement with the surroundings to redirect cravings constructively.<\/li><\/ul><p>Through this workshop, <span style=\"color: #f08c00;\"><strong>\u83b1\u4f5b\u58eb\u5927\u5b66<\/strong><\/span> reaffirmed its commitment to making a positive social impact. By equipping individuals in rehabilitation with sustainable techniques for self-regulation, we support their journey toward recovery and reintegration into the community.
