Raffles University is delighted to officially welcome Dr Lau Cher Han<\/strong> as our new Adjunct Associate Professor <\/strong>for Faculty of AI & Robotics. We eagerly welcome him to our academic community, confident that his contributions will significantly impact our research endeavours and student learning experiences.<\/p>

As an Adjunct Associate Professor, Dr Lau will offer invaluable insights to enhance RU\u2019s research capabilities, co-supervise research students, and serve as a guest lecturer. His presence promises to inspire and shape the future of innovation at Raffles University.<\/p>

Education Background<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Raffles University is privileged to welcome Dr Lau Cher Han, a distinguished scholar with an outstanding academic background. Dr Lau is a distinguished expert in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, specialising in text mining.<\/strong> With a PhD in Machine Learning from the Queensland University of Technology, he has developed a deep foundation in advanced computational techniques and their practical applications.<\/p>

Extensive Experience in Academia and Industry<\/span>
<\/strong>
With extensive experience in both academia and industry, Dr Lau has provided consultancy and training services to a range of high-profile international clients, including IKEA, Intel, and IBM, as well as prominent local organisations such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Telekom Malaysia. His expertise is also sought by government ministries, including the Department of Statistics Malaysia and the Ministry of Communication.<\/p>

Dr Lau’s insights and expertise have made him a regular guest on various media platforms, including television and radio shows such as Astro, BFM, RTM AiFM, and TV2. These appearances have helped bridge the gap between complex technological concepts and public understanding.<\/p>

Leadership and Strategic Vision<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

In addition to his consulting and media engagements, Dr Lau serves as the Independent Director of Agmo Berhad and as a Senior Corporate Advisor for Axon Medical Group. His leadership and strategic vision have been instrumental in guiding these organisations towards technological innovation and growth.<\/p>

Previously, Dr. Lau held advisory roles with Johor Corporation and the Selangor State Government, where he contributed his knowledge to drive regional advancements in smart cities, technology and data-driven decision-making.<\/p>

Impacting Local and International Spheres<\/span><\/strong>
Dr Lau Cher Han continues to be a leading figure in the field of data science and artificial intelligence<\/strong>, combining academic rigour with practical expertise to impact both local and international spheres.<\/p>

His role at Raffles University will undoubtedly enhance our academic offerings and provide students with invaluable insights into the ever-evolving world of technology.<\/p>
