Robotics Faculty<\/a> proudly presents the latest research &#8211; <strong>Deep Learning Architecture for Decoding EEG Brain Signals. <\/strong>The project is led by <strong>Associate Professor. Dr Sasa ARSOVSKI, <\/strong>the programme director of AI &amp; Robotics programmes at Raffles University.<\/p><p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A drone is controlled by &#8220;mind thinking.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>As shown in the demonstration video below, Assoc. Prof. Dr Sasa manages to control the drone by wearing a portable headband without any controller. The technology can be applied to a drone or machine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a54aed8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-video\" data-id=\"a54aed8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;youtube_url&quot;:&quot;https:\\\/\\\/youtu.be\\\/CiA0ARSrw5I&quot;,&quot;video_type&quot;:&quot;youtube&quot;,&quot;controls&quot;:&quot;yes&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"video.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-wrapper elementor-open-inline\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-video\"><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-63d0c78 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"63d0c78\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Explanation of the scenario<\/strong><\/p><p>The headband is portable electroencephalography &#8211; &#8220;Muse&#8221; that is used to collect brain activities.\u00a0<\/p><ol><li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The electroencephalography (EEG) neural signals of the imagined directions (left, right, forward, backward) of individuals are decoded.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A brain waves classifier of the left, right, up, down, forward, and backward movement imagery with portable electroencephalography &#8211; &#8220;Muse&#8221; (a portable headband launched lately) has been developed.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The brain activities are collected with Muse electroencephalography.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An Artificial Neural Network is used as the classifier of the extracted features.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The real-time EEG data is collected and defined with procedure steps to send the command block to the drone.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The drone will then move according to the brain signal collected (when a person thinks about how the drone should be moving in any direction).\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><strong>Future Implication<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"p2\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The working prototype of our solution can be\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">commercialised and implement<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>ed<\/strong> in different industries, from Defence, Manufacturing to Medical and Health. Since the technology can be applied to both drones and machines, imagine if it applies to the robotic arm, it will be greatly helpful in the medical
